How to use the sterile sample collection swab

The sterile sample collection swab is used as follows:

1. Use the swab that comes with the package. Take out the swab and hold the seal of the sterile packaging material.

2. Gently touch the packaged swab to the nasopharynx of the person being collected, gently rotate and draw out the swab.

3. Place the swab into the reagent tube, break off the head, and tighten the cap.

4. Break the swab, unscrew the swab package, touch the swab to the oral mucosa of the person being collected, gently rotate and draw out the swab.

5. Place the swab into the reagent tube, break off the head, and tighten the cap.

6. Open the reagent tube and add the sample extraction solution.

7. Break off the swab, place the swab into the reagent tube, break off the head, and tighten the tube cap.

8. Open the reagent tube and add the sample extraction solution.

9. Add sample extract to the sample well and insert the sampling swab into the sample solution. Rotate the sampling swab to ensure that all the sample is dissolved.

10. Remove the swab from the sample solution, swirl the tube and squeeze the swab to collect the sample.

11. Place the sampling swab into a test tube and use a needle to pierce the swab head into the stopper of the test tube.

12. Tighten the test tube cap, invert the test tube with the label facing upward, and mark the sampling date and time on the test tube.

13. Place the test tube in the preservative solution, attach a label, and sign or stamp at the location of the sampler.
