Application scenarios and advantages and disadvantages of cryotubes and centrifuge tubes in the laboratory

1. Application scenarios of cryopreservation tubes in laboratories:

(1) Cryopreservation of biological samples such as cells, viruses, serum, enzymes, and nucleic acids;

(2) Store rare cells, vitrified ethanol and other special liquids;

(3) Storage of corrosive liquids containing high salt, acidity, alkalinity, etc.

Advantages: good sealing, avoid sample volatilization and pollution; easy to identify labels; suitable for long-term storage.

Disadvantages: Large volume, large freezing equipment is required to store a large number of biological samples.

2. Application scenarios of centrifuge tubes in laboratories:

(1) Preparation of PCR reagents;

(2) Isolate nucleic acids such as DNA and RNA;

(3) Experimental operations such as centrifugal separation.

Advantages: small size, suitable for storing small samples; high transparency, convenient for observing samples.

Disadvantages: Poor sealing, prone to volatilization and pollution; easy to confuse labels, prone to misuse.
